Buchku & Elmo!

We were shopping at Babies R Us. Buchku was a little cranky so Papa started distracting him with an Elmo softtoy. And within seconds, Buchku started giggling 🙂

When Vivaan met Raahil…

Last weekend, something wonderful happenned. Something I was anxiously waiting for…ever since we got to know (sometime in September 2006) that both Rupali & Shikha are expecting together – To see Vivaan & Raahil together 🙂

It was an awesome feeling! We have many beautiful memories of the preggy ladies together.

And now, seeing the 2 babies “growing together” is just beautiful…

30 days with Vivaan & Golu’s Baby shower

30 days with VivaanVivaan is now a month old! I cant hide the smile on my face when i write this 🙂

It has been a beautiful experience – the waking nights (more for Shikha than me), wet diapers, burping, the complete nine yards. We paid an unscheduled visit to the pediatrician on Thursday. Our Vivaan now weighs 9 lb 11.5 oz and is a full 1/2 inch taller 😉

On a separate note, we also got Vivaan’s birth certificate. We applied directly to the Hamilton county instead of waiting until the birth record reached Indiana state health department(that would take a few weeks more). They told us it takes between 6-8 weeks. To my pleasant surprise, it was at my door in under a week! Now the next step is to get his passport and PIO/OCI card.

Thats it from me. Prashant/Rupali – over to you. Tell us how Golu’s baby shower was. Sorry we weren’t there 🙁

Vivaan’s 2 Week Pediatric appointment

Vivaan at Two WeeksVivaan had his 2 week pediatric appointment today. It was something that Shikha and I were looking forward to anxiously. This appointment is important in many ways. Firstly, it tells you whether the baby has regained his birth weight. The rule of thumb is that the baby will loose weight after birth. However, if he is feeding well enough, he should regain his original birth weight by 2 weeks. Secondly, it was the first time that the pediatrician really spent some time with us talking about our questions and concerns.

Well, Vivaan now weighs all of 7 lbs and 14 ozs – That’s 5 ozs more than his birth weight (50th percentile). He’s still 21 inches tall which is 90th percentile and his head crown now measures 35.5 cms which is also normal.

In a nutshell, the appointment went of very well. Shikha and I are very happy that our little Vivaan is growing well!
