WordPress Cruft Free

I’ve finished moving my weblog from Blogger to Wordpress. I couldn’t believe how easy it turned out to be. Standards rock!

You’ll also notice that my Permalinks are now ‘cruft-free’.

What are ‘cruft-free’ urls?

These references will tell you more about them.

In short, you will notice if you click on any of my permalinks or categories, the url shows as

“…wlog/archives/2004/04/18/sweet-mama/…”

Instead of :
“…wlog/index.php?=id…”

This helps in making the urls ‘future-proof’ as well as easy to organize. The cruft-free urls you will see from now on my website will all have the format ‘wlog/archives/YEAR/MONTH/DATE/TOPIC”

This will hopefully make my weblog much more easily ‘accessible’ and ’searchable’ to a visitor. More importantly, it will reduce the pains of making duplicate entries in Blogger to maintain categories for my post!
